Samuel Karanja
Samuel grew up in a polygamist family where he had seven siblings. One of his elder brothers was very aggressive and beat him all the time. Eventually, he couldn't take it anymore and took to the streets with other kids from his village. His life was miserable and his parents did nothing for him. His grandmother, who didn't have the means to take care of him, referred him to an orphanage where he was able to begin school though he didn't do well. Now at the SOHCO Vocational Training Centre, he is learning job skills and receiving counseling to help him overcome the emotional and spiritual challenges that he is determined to overcome.
